Midwest Aquatic Plant Management Society Student Paper Contest

The Midwest Aquatic Plant Management Society (MAPMS) will be holding a student paper contest at the 2008 Annual Conference.  The Conference will be at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, OH from March 1 -3.  All papers will be 15 to 20 minute oral presentations on original research dealing with aquatic plant management, including ecology or biology of aquatic plants, and chemical, mechanical, or biological control of aquatic weeds.  All qualified students will be provided room accommodations (double occupancy) and a registration waiver for the meeting.  In addition, there will be prize money for those placing 1, 2, or 3^rd in the contest.  

This is a great opportunity for students to refine presentation skills, network with professionals in the field of aquatic plant management, and learn about regional issues pertaining to aquatic weeds.  Please visit the Society website at www.mapms.org to learn more about the annual meeting and the Society.  You can register for the contest by submitting an abstract and conference registration form enclosed in our newsletter or can be found on this site in the 2008 Conference section.    Please indicate “student paper” on both forms.  Space for student presentations will be limited by the order in which abstracts were received.  For more information, please contact:
