The
MAPMS membership is comprised of persons with a broad range of lake management
backgrounds. The society's membership is primarily comprised of aquatic management
practitioners such as herbicide applicators, harvestor operators, dredging contractors,
and other lake management professionals. Others include fishery biologists, wetland
ecologists, limnologists, engineers, chemical/equipment manufacturers and distributors,
research scientists, regulators, botanists, and lake association members.
The
majority of members are from Midwestern and Northeastern states. MAPMS programs
focus on aquatic plant management problems and solutions unique to temperate, northern
lakes.
